Supreme Lord Laozi placed Sun Wukong inside the Bagua Furnace for alchemical refinement, but instead, he acquired the Fiery Eyes, seeing through all illusions. After forty-nine days, Sun Wukong escaped and defiantly scoffed and mocked the gods of the Heavenly Court, reveling in his mischievous spirit.
